8mm in inches

If you have inches but require millimeters, do the following:
In decreasing order of size…

1/16 inch equals almost 2mm

1/8 inch equals little more than 3mm

A quarter-inch equals a bit more than 6mm.

3/8 inch equals almost 10mm

1/2 inch is around 13mm.

5/8 inch is equivalent to 16mm.

3/4 inch is equal to 19mm.

7/8 inch Equals a little bit more than 22mm

1 inch is equivalent to 25.4mm.

If you have millimeters but need inches, apply this formula:

1mm = a bit more than a third of an inch

2mm equals little more than 1/16 inch

3mm is about 1/8 inch.

4mm ≈ 5/32 inch (about 1/8 inch)

5mm is somewhat larger than 3/16 inch. 6mm = about 1/4 inch

7mm = almost 9/32 inch (= somewhat more than 1/4 inch)

5/16 inch is equivalent to 8mm.

9mm is about 3/8 inch.

10mm is somewhat larger than 3/8 inch.

11mm is about 7/16 inch.

12mm = about 15/32 inch (almost 1/2 inch)

13mm = little more than half an inch

14mm = about 9/16 inch

15mm = about 19/32 inch

5/8 inch is equivalent to 16mm.

17mm is equal to around 11/16 inch. 18mm is somewhat larger than 11/16 inch.

19mm equals 3/4 inch; 20mm equals 25/32 inch, and 21mm is little more than 13/16 inches.

22mm Equals about 7/8 inch

29/32 inch = 23mm 24mm is somewhat larger than 15/16 inch. 25mm = about 1 inch

Calculators for Conversion

If you have inches and want to convert them to millimeters, follow these steps:

To begin, convert any inch fraction to a decimal integer.

1 divided by 4 equals 0.25 inch

For example, 1/16 inch = 1 divided by 16 is 0.0625 inch.

For values more than an inch, convert the fractional component first, then add the complete inch part:

For example, 2-1/4 inch = 1 divided by 4, then multiplied by 2 = 2.25 inch

For example, 1-5/8 inch is 5 divided by 8, then 1 added equals 1.625 inches.

The second step is to multiply the decimal by 25.4.

8mm in inches

The whole procedure for each of the above situations would be as follows:

1/4 inch = 1 divided by 4, multiplied by 25.4, equals 6.35mm (6mm)

1/16 inch equals 1 divided by 16, multiplied by 25.4 equals 1.5875 (1.6mm)

1 divided by 4, plus 2, multiplied by 25.4 = 57.15 (57mm)

1-5/8 inch = 5 divided by 8, plus 1, multiplied by 25.4, equals 41.275 (41mm)

If you have millimeters (or centimeters) but want inches, you may perform the following:

To begin, divide your millimeter measurement by 25.4. (or divide your centimeter amount by 2.54)

2mm multiplied by 25.4 equals

In Example 1, the measurement is 07874 inches.

6mm multiplied by 25.4 equals

In Example 2, the length is 2362 inches.

In Example 3, 30mm divided by 25.4 equals 1.1811 inches.

In Example 4, 4cm divided by 2.54 is 1.5748 inches.

You may use this decimal number to figure out how many 6mm beads you’ll need for a 20-inch necklace. From Example 2, you already know that a 6mm bead equals.2362 inches.

As a result, 20 inches divided by.2362 inches each bead yields 84.67 beads per necklace.

I’d round up to 80 beads since you’ll most likely need some space for bead tips and a clasp. The number of beads per strand is shown in a chart.

Try this if you want fractions of an inch (1/16, 1/4, 1/2) rather than decimals:

Step two: Converting a decimal to a useful fraction:

I like to round up to the nearest 1/16-inch increment. To find the nearest 1/16 inch, multiply your decimal by 16. The number of 1/16’s of an inch obtained is the outcome.

Using the figures from Step 1, create the following:

07874 divided by 16 is 1.26, which rounds to one, or about one-tenth of an inch.

2362 divided by 16 is 3.779, which rounds to 4, or about 4/16 inch. 4/16 inch equals 1/4 inch

For amounts more than an inch, it is easiest to delete the whole inches and then reintroduce them after converting the section after the decimal point:

1.1811 You obtain by eliminating the 1. 1811 divided by 16 equals 2.9, which rounds to 3, or around 3/16 inch… Don’t forget to replace the 1 for a total of 1-3/16 inches.

1.5748 You obtain by eliminating the 1. 5748 divided by 16 = 9.1968, which rounds to 9 or around 9/16 inch… Don’t forget to replace the 1 for a total of 1-9/16 inches.

For jewelry purposes, I do not recommend rounding to larger fractions, such as 1/4 or even 1/8 inch. If you are not making jewelry or if your needs are not exact, round to a larger fraction, such as 1/4. Simply replace all of the 16s in the examples in Step 2 with 4s to round to the nearest 1/4 of an inch.

Using the figures from step 1, which I also used in step 2, you get….07874 times 4 =.315, which rounds to zero, giving you 0/4 of an inch (not very useful!).

2362 divided by 4 equals

9448, which is rounded to one and equals a quarter-inch measurement (which happens to be accurate)
